Our Location

We operate near the town of Russell in the province of Manitoba. Russell is approximately 200 miles northwest of Winnipeg, or roughly 120 miles north of the United States border, situated 12 miles east of the Manitoba/Saskatchewan boundary.   The topography is slightly rolling with various sizes of stands of poplar trees and willow bush.   Agricultural land in the area is devoted mainly to grain production.   We have been told several times that "there is nothing like it anywhere in the United States.  "We are in the heart of two very important and prolific waterfowl regions, the Central Flyway and the Prairie Pothole. We have had abundant precipitation over the last several years and as a result have seen an incredible explosion in the population of all subspecies of Canada geese and several different duck species, most notably mallards. The snow goose population continues to hold at very high levels.   Heavy rains in the fall of 2000 and above average snowfall this past winter has raised every pothole and lake to historically high levels; a grain farmer’s nightmare but a duck hunter’s dream!
